Fujairah is a city on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the capital of the Emirate of Fujairah, one of the seven emirates which compose the federation. The emirate‘s leaders have traditionally maintained a policy of neutrality and is the only emirate of the UAE that is almost totally mountainous. It has the oldest mosque in the UAE, the AlBadiyah Mosque, which dates back to the 15th century. It is a popular destination for tourists who come to explore its beaches, mountains, and desert. Popular activities in Fujairah include scuba diving, camel riding, sand boarding, and shopping. The city is also home to the famous Fujairah Fort, a historic fort dating back to the 16th century.
